love it! August 18, 2010 Already I adore Aveda products- this shampoo was great smelling and easy to rinse out. in combination with the color conserve conditioner I was able to maintain my hair color well and it also put me in a good mood to be lathering up with this great scent.
Not great for cleaning your hair January 29, 2010 Hopeless... (Wheat Rige, CO USA) I bought this from my Aveda provider right after they died my hair, and it really preserved the color. However, after use my hair would still feel dirty- oily and limp. I would try using more shampoo or I'd shampoo it twice but it still felt as if my hair was dirty. I tried the L'oreal pure shampoo, and it got my hair clean and preserved my color, but not as well as this. This product would be better for someone without thick or oily hair, but for my heavy hair, this doesn't cut it.
Love the smell, not sure it's the best for fine hair October 9, 2008 R. Kyle (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love Aveda Color. It's one of the most natural, best feeling colors on my hair and I've tried several different brands to find a color I like.
I'm not so sure about the Aveda brand Color Conserve Shampoo. When I use the shampoo, my hair feels drier than it was to start with and it's rough like the cuticle is open. I must use the conditioner afterward or I'll end up with awful looking bone dry hair. The conditioner is great, gives good body and doesn't weight down my hair much, but it takes some extra time that I don't always want to take.
I have used other color conserve shampoos which leave my hair feeling better without always having to use the paired conditioner. That's probably what I will go back to after I have used this product up.

Makes my thin, fluffy hair a bit gummy October 2, 2008 Conspicuous Consumer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this shampoo because of the Allure rating and still use it about once a month despite the fact that it weighs my hair down and makes it more difficult to comb.
I also bought Aveda's Pure Abundance shampoo and conditioner and had the same experience.
I mentioned this to my hairdresser and he said they quit carrying the Aveda line in their salon for the same reason.
Softness & Shine August 24, 2008 Kat Sharp I really love this shampoo & conditioner. I used to use Biolage to combat the damage my city's hard water was doing to my hair, but since I started using Aveda, my hair has been much softer and has 100% more shine. The Color Conserve has been wonderful and my color stays true; I also use the Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother to fight frizz caused by humidity. The only con to these Aveda products is the price, but the results are worth it.
